Dr. Ned R. Murray 
Founding President and Senior Consultant

With over 30 years in education leadership, Ned has been head of school and senior administrator in independent schools of all sizes--religious and non-religiously affiliated--as well as a for-profit school system. His passion is assisting schools and other nonprofit organizations in pursuing their missions more effectively and efficiently for the betterment of the larger community. Dedicated to research, collaboration, and innovation in education, he was a founding member of the Elementary Schools Research Collaborative (now part of INDEX) and ISA, a regional marketing collaborative. He has served on the Board of SAIS and led accreditation teams in several states. The time and energy he once focussed on those professional organizations, Ned now dedicates to NRM Consulting, which he finds is a more efficient and impactful use of his experience. His other community service endeavors have included serving on the Board of the Chattanooga Boys and Girls Club, the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ (CSIS) Education Advisory Council, Governor Sundquist’s Advisory Council on Education,  and as Mentor to the 120 member Augusta Red Cross Youth Board. Ned earned his B.A. in English from Sewanee: The University of the South, an M.Ed. in Education Leadership from UTC, and a D.Min. in Education Leadership from Virginia Theological Seminary. Other continuing education has included the Coalition of Essential Schools summer workshop at Brown University and two programs at Columbia University’s Klingenstein Institute. Ned knows independent schools as a student, teacher, administrator, and parent of two independent school graduates.

Monty R. Bruell
Consulting Associate Specializing in Strategy, Business Practices, Marketing, and Brand Management

Monty Bruell  has more than 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, consultant, manager, and investment advisor across a broad spectrum of industries and market environments. Monty has founded, led, or advised companies in sectors as diverse as marketing, commercial construction, publishing, and education -- from startups to Fortune 500 organizations. He has worked with Ned across three decades in helping to develop strategic thinking and practices that lead to greater effectiveness and efficiency. Like all Associates at NRM Consulting, Monty also has passion for community service and non-profits, having served as Board Chair of Glass House Collective, Founder and Chair of the Harvard Alumni Partnership to Advance Non-Profits (HAPAN), Vice Chairman of the Atlanta BeltLine Tax Allocation District Advisory Committee, Chairman of Chattanooga Venture, and as Entrepreneurship Mentor at The Company Lab technology incubator/accelerator in Chattanooga. Monty has an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University.

Kimberly Kubik
Consulting Associate Specializing in Advancement, Development, Fundraising, Constituent Relations, and Communication

Kimberly knows independent schools inside and out. More to the point, she knows how to advance their missions by coordinating and maximizing communications, fundraising, and relationship-building strategies. She spent her first 12 years out of college (University of Massachusetts, Amherst, B.A.) as an English teacher and then Department Chair at Tabor Academy. Her passion for relationship building and supporting schools led her into the advancement world. For the past 19 years she has impacted all levels of education (PK to college) through development and advancement work at such established schools as Deerfield, Milton, and Bowdoin College. She is an active collaborator who has led workshops and coalition-building through organizations such as NAIS and INDEX. Kimberly has an M.A. in English Literature from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury and was a Klingenstein Summer Fellow.

Long-time Episcopal school chaplain and head, the Rev. George Andrews has partnered with NRM consulting to develop and deliver a unique, research-based, team approach to leadership development, renewal, and coaching specifically designed for school leaders.

George is also President of G. E. Andrews & Associates, a firm specializing in chaplaincy search and placement. He is committed to education as a ministry. He has served on the Governing Board of the National Association of Episcopal Schools for eight years (including terms as Vice President and then President), and was the recipient of the Ruth Jenkins Award for Outstanding Service to NAES. Since his retirement as Head of School, Rev. Andrews has continued his involvement and commitment to Episcopal education by maintaining associations with key constituencies, enabling him to remain connected with the issues and trends in Episcopal schools. George’s background, experience, and vast network make him an invaluable resource to people in school leadership positions. He has worked with chaplains, heads, key administrators, and Boards of Trustees, helping guide and promote effective leadership practices, as well as personal growth and wellness.

Shannon Earle has partnered with Ned and George to develop and deliver their unique, research-based, team approach to leadership development, renewal, and coaching specifically designed for school leaders.

As a certified coach, Shannon works with clients ranging from college students to CEOs. A lifelong student of human nature and performance, Shannon utilizes the concepts of neural science - along with her experience as an athlete and teacher - to help people rewire their cognitive responses to opportunities, expectations, and stressors. Her passion is helping people achieve their desired outcomes and create lives of impact and joy.

Shannon grew up in the San Joaquin Valley in Central California. She studied at Arizona State University, where she was a Division 1 swimmer, and earned her degree from the University of Idaho. A teacher by vocation, she has worked in settings as varied as therapeutic boarding schools, Waldorf kindergarten, and as a wilderness instructor. Currently, Shannon is the Program Manager for a private transition school in Idaho, Echo Springs, helping struggling college-age students make more effective transition to independent living. Like the rest of the NRM Consulting team, Shannon has steadfastly pursued her own personal and professional growth throughout her career, including earning her Parent Coach certification and Waldorf math certification. She’s also currently pursuing a Masters in Communications and Leadership at Gonzaga University.
